Chana
chaat:
Ingredients:
1. Chickpeas *white chana -250 g
(soaked overnight)
2. Tomato -1 (diced into small
cubes)
3. Onion -1 (diced)
4. Potato -1 boiled and diced
5. Green chili 2 chopped
6. Red chili powder- 1 tbsp
7. White cumin* (zeera)- 1tbsp (lightly sauté )
8. Chaat masala- 1 tsp
9. Sugar- 1tsp
10. Fresh coriander leaves- 1
bundle
11. Tamarind (imli) pulp juice- ½ cup
12. Salt ½ tsp
Method:
1. Soak chickpeas overnight, cook
them in pressure cooker for 45 minutes.
2. Also boil potato and cut it
into small cubes.
3. Dissolve sugar in the tamarind
juice and set aside.
4. In the boiled chickpeas add
salt, red chili, cumin seeds and chaat masala. Toss in the diced tomatoes,
onion, potatoes. Add the tamarind juice.
5. Serve at room temperature,
garnish with fresh coriander and green chili
